Earth Moment Buys Carbon Credits With Every Sale

“We think we offer consumers one of the easiest ways to make a positive difference in the world.”
-Bryan Welch, Managing Partner of Earth Moment.

Though the European ethical consumer market seems to be flourishing, Americans looking for green online shopping have comparatively few alternatives. Ethical shopping is therefore usually more about which products you buy than where you buy them. But EarthMoment.com hopes that the carbon credits it donates with every purchase will be enough to make you want to do your holiday shopping with them.

Within 24 hours of every purchase, 50 percent of the commission Earth Moment earns is converted to carbon credits, courtesy of Carbonfund.org. Rather than trying to convince consumers to only green products, Earth Moment offers more than 15 million products from retailers like Macy's and Wal-Mart at competitive prices, with at least some of whatever damage comes from buying these products offset by the carbon credits. The site encourages you to buy from green stores like Mothernature.com, VivaTerra, and Organic Bouquet, but if you're not buying flowers, hemp clothing or fair trade coffee for your kids for Christmas, Earth Moment at least offers you an alternative to Amazon.
