I like the following companies because not only are they sweatshop free, but are fair trade and organic as well (and unlike American apparel, have had no issues with sexual harassment in their history). Additionly, I like the cuts they offer. The only downside is that they can be really pretty pricey if you're on a budget. If you search for Loomstate and Nudie Jeans on eBay there are more reasonable prices. Although I haven't seen Hug on eBay, they sometimes have sales (i.e. 50% off on all denim currently).
