If you plan on sending flowers at some point in this holiday season, you may want to consider Organic Bouquet. Founded in 2001, the online retailer offers sustainable floral arrangements at prices comparable to the big names in the industry. If you don't feel like going through the online ordering process or just want to pick up some flowers on your way home from work, the line is also available at all Whole Foods Markets.

All of the flowers sold on are certified organic, but there are also a variety of other certifications that some of the flowers carry like fair trade, biodynamic, or Veriflora, a certification system created especially for the floral and potted plant industries. In order to achieve Veriflora certification, a grower must meet meet standards of crop sustainability, ecosystem protection, conservation and energy efficiency and fair labor practices, just to name a few.
